I am a traditional artist who has been drawing and creating art ever since I can remember—and selling my art since I was 10 years old. Watercolor, printmaking, and drawing are the mediums that speak the most to me. My art is inspired by the beautiful flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest—and is grounded in my personal observations and reflections of growing up in Bellingham, Washington, and in my exploration of the themes of nature and the cycle of the seasons. I also love creating whimsical and fantastical worlds in my art to inspire the imagination of aspiring artists, especially young artists. In the past seven years since I started selling my art, I have come to realize that art is not a solo activity. It gives me joy when my art touches people and makes them happy by evoking their emotions and memories. It gives my art meaning when others like my coloring books and coloring cards because they add their meanings to my art, which then becomes collaborative—transcending my original and creating a new and unique piece in the process. I plan to study studio art in college next year and hope to pursue art full-time as a career.
